Privacy Policy — Text to Speech: VoiceCraft AI

Text to Speech: VoiceCraft AI (“VoiceCraft AI”, “the app”, “we”, “us”) turns text you write into spoken audio. This policy explains exactly what the app collects, why, who it is shared with, and what control you have over it. It covers the VoiceCraft AI mobile app only. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the app.
1. The short version
- You can use the app as a guest — no name, no email, no password.
- The text you type is sent to Google to be turned into speech. That is the core function of the app and it cannot work without it.
- We show ads and use analytics and crash reporting.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not show your text or audio to anyone else.
- You can delete any recording, clear your history, or sign out at any time.
2. What we collect
2.1 Account information
Depending on how you sign in:
- Guest: an anonymous ID only. No name, email or password.
- Google: your name, email address and profile picture, as provided by Google.
- Email & password: your email address and display name. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication and are never visible to us.
2.2 Content you create
- The text you enter. It is sent to Google Cloud Text-to-Speech to be synthesised, and stored with your history so you can see what a recording says.
- The audio that is generated, along with the voice, language, speed and pitch you chose, and the time it was created.
2.3 Usage and diagnostics
- Analytics — which screens are opened and which features are used (for example, that a generation happened, and in which language). This is aggregate product data, not a record of your text.
- Crash reports — if the app crashes, the error and a technical stack trace are sent so we can fix it. These can include the device model and OS version.
2.4 Advertising
Google AdMob serves the ads in the app and may access your device’s advertising identifier and general ad-interaction data to select ads and prevent fraud (see section 5).
2.5 Stored on your device only
Your draft text, app settings, coin balance and preferences are saved on your device. They are not uploaded except where stated above.
3. What we do not collect
- We do not access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or location.
- We do not read files on your device.
- We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone.

5. Who your data is shared with
The app relies on the following services. Each processes data under its own privacy policy:
- Google Cloud Text-to-Speech — receives the text you want spoken, in order to synthesise the audio. Notice.
- Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage (Google) — store your account, history and audio.
- Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics (Google) — usage statistics and crash reports.
- Google AdMob — serves ads. How Google uses ad data.
Google’s overall privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. We may also disclose information if we are legally required to do so.
6. Advertising and your choices
The app is free and paid for by ads. You can watch an optional rewarded ad to earn coins; you are never required to watch one to keep using the app’s core features. You can limit ad personalisation at any time from your device settings:
- Android — Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID or Opt out of Ads Personalisation.
- iOS — Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA and the UK), we ask for your consent before showing personalised ads, and you may change your mind later.
7. How long we keep it
- Recordings and history are kept until you delete them or clear your history.
- Account data is kept until you delete your account.
- Crash and analytics data is retained by Google for a limited period under their own retention schedules.
Deleting a recording in the app removes it from our storage.
8. Your rights and controls
You can, at any time:
- Delete a recording — use the menu on any item in History.
- Clear your entire history — History → Clear.
- Clear cached files — Settings → Clear cache.
- Sign out — Settings or Profile → Sign out.
- Delete your account and all associated data — email us at the address in section 11 and we will erase it within 30 days.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may also have the right to access, correct, export or restrict the processing of your data. Contact us and we will honour those rights.
9. Security
Your data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored in Google Cloud. Access is restricted by security rules so that only your own account can read or write your profile, history and audio. No system is perfectly secure, but we will not ask you for your password, and we never see it.
10. Children
Text to Speech: VoiceCraft AI is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
